Do you ever go through food phases? You know, when you eat the same food (or a few different foods) over and over again for several weeks until you basically wear out its appeal? I do this all of the time. Right now, I’m on a sunflower butter kick. I’ve been eating it multiple times a day and adding it to all of my favorite meals– from oatmeal to smoothies!
Even my dog loves the stuff!

My favorite brand of sunflower butter, SunButter Natural Crunch, scores a 40 on the NuVal scale.

At first, I was a little disappointed by this score. I just figured sunflower butter would score just as high as my other beloved nut butters (Teddie Unsalted Peanut Butter gets a 49). But, when I looked at the category median for nut butters, it’s just a 22, so a 40 is actually really good! I guess I’ll just keep chowing down on sunflower butter!
Have you ever tried sunflower butter? If so, what did you think of it?

Sunflower butter is awesome! I don’t buy anything else anymore. I use Trader Joe’s brand, but I wonder how it scores though.
I am slightly obsessed with sunbutter… eaten on a spoon is the #1 way, but I also enjoy it in oats, on toast, and with an apple dipped in! YUM!
I like the taste of sunflower butter, but the only kind I have had (Trader Joe’s) was too runny for my liking. I wanted it to be thicker like the nut butters I am used to! The picture of SunButter looks like its much thicker!
I love sunflower butter!! I love sunbutter brand but sometimes I buy the store brand at my local grocery store since it’s cheaper.
