We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but somehow it’s often neglected with the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Bagels are a great option for breakfast because they’re quick, simple, and easily transportable, but they’re not always the most nutritious option, especially when some of them score really low on the NuVal scale.

Wow, some of those scores are really surprisingly low! Aren’t bagels supposed to be deceptively calorie-dense though? I’ve seen that one bagel is equal to three or even four slices of toast!

It’s been forever since I’ve had a bagel! I used to eat them all the time one summer when I was taking summer classes at college. Unfortunately that was the summer I gained 20 lbs from all the refined carbs I was eating (they therefore spiked my insulin and I was hungry every. single. hour. on the hour). But I’ve put my refined carbs issues mostly behind me, and I’d love to try some of these high-scoring bagels! Thanks for the info!
Wow I’m shocked to see some of those bagels having such low nutritional stats. Yuck!
Also, I have 8 giveaways going on on my blog right now if anyone is interested!
Thanks for the options! Bagels are my favorite weekend indulgence
Curious to know the score for Alvarado Street sprouted wheat bagels. If you’ve never had them, they’re great! Perfect size in my opinion, hearty, & very tasty.
