According to the National Supermarket Association, Wednesday is the best day to shop. Most people go grocery shopping when the sales ads come out late in the week or on the weekend when they have the time. So, on Wednesdays, the stores are the least crowded, the selection is most plentiful since the shelves are fully stocked, and the sales are still on. Interesting, right?

I JUST wrote a blog post about this about a week ago! I shop at Trader Joe’s – they have no coupons, so I don’t have to worry about that. I go on Sunday mornings before church…there is NO ONE there! It’s great.

I usually go Sunday – but grocery store flyers come out on Tuesdays here…so Wednesdays are usually the worst. Sunday mornings are pretty empty.
My favorite time to go to the grocery store is at 7:30 on a Saturday morning. The store is completely empty and I can breeze in and out… that is if I can wake up that early on a Saturday!
Call me nerdy, but my husband and I usually go together on Friday evenings.

I shop about 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. I find all the produce is usually stocked by then and the store doesn’t get busy until 10:00 a.m. It’s the perfect time for me.
I normally go to the grocery store early on a Saturday morning. I go to the gym earlier on Saturdays for two reasons: it is less crowded and it fuels me for the rest of the day
I then hit up the grocery store because not many people are there and at Wegmans, they put out all the fresh, locally grown veggies at around 8 AM! A vegetarian’s dream
Normally, you will find me there first thing Sunday morning. Unless I’m out of coffee, then I’m there on Saturday afternoon:)

I actually went grocery shopping after work yesterday (Wednesday) and there were a lot of sale items that were out of stock! Must be a YMMV (your mileage may vary) kind of thing. Usually I go on Saturday or Sunday when the turnover rate of produce is high. I don’t mind fighting the crowds if the food is fresher!
i already go on wednesdays because that’s the day i pick up my csa share and then i know what veggies and fruits i already have for the week and can shop to supplement!
I go on Wednesday nights or mornings depending on whether I feel like taking my kids! I usually opt for Wed. nights so I can go by myself and leave the boys with Daddy. Then I can relax and take my time searching for the most nutritious and best deals.
I try to shop during the week once the after work people clear out…probably around 7:30 pm.
Mine is usually a random day.. it’s been Friday often though! I may opt for Wednesday now.

I typically go to the store either on Friday mornings at like 8am or Sunday Mornings at 8am. I like to go early so that I can go before the crowd gets there and I always know that if I go on a sunday, they will be stocking lots of fresh fruit and veggies because the stores know that they will be selling alot that day as people prepare to go back to work on monday for the start of the week!!

Now that’s summer I go during the week when everyone is at work (I’m a first grade teacher). P.S. I live so close to a grocery store, I can walk and hear “bakery dept. line one.” ha,ha
I live in New York City so I always order my groceries from FreshDirect on Sunday and they are delivered to me Monday.

This week I went grocery shopping on Tuesday and Friday – I don’t normally go twice, but needed a few things from different stores.
Pretty much any weekday and during the day. I try to avoid going during the evening because most of the produce is gone. Same for the weekend. Sat is usually super busy and Sunday there doesn’t seem to be a big selection.
I typically go on Saturday or Sunday. I’d prefer to go in the middle of the week but the closest decent shopping is 30 miles away from my town. I wait until I have a day to hit up all the stores I need to go to while I’m there.
I grocery shop on Wednesdays. It is the same day I do other errands, so often the whole day is spent getting everything done.
