Overnight Oats

If you haven’t heard of overnight oats yet, let’s just say you’re in for a life changing experience! ;)

overnightoats

Overnight oats are basically just regular oats, soaked overnight in the refrigerator. The oats absorb the liquid (soy milk, water, etc.) that you add to them, so, in the morning, you have a cool, mushy mess of oatmeal to enjoy. The base is typically oats, but you can also use oat bran, spelt flakes, granola, etc. The toppings as endless and you can add them the night before or the next morning– either way works.

So, just add all of your ingredients to the jar the night before, let it sit in the fridge overnight, grab a spoon, and enjoy it in the morning. Simple as that. No cooking involved!

You can also make overnight oats in an empty nut butter jar. I highly recommend this method! :)

  172. That mug looks awesome!

My favorite healthy breakfast is a kind of reverse bowl of cereal. Instead of a bowl of cereal with berries on top, I fill a bowl with my favorite frozen blueberries (Wyman’s!), thawed a bit, with cerea on top and almond milk, and cinnamon. Sometimes a scoop of protein powder.

I usually go to work at 6:30 or 7:30 am, so overnight oats would be perfect for me! :)

  356. Well, I just recently tried Overnight Oats, and they are DELICIOUS! :) I’m not a fan of them being super cold out of the fridge (the texture+temperature does nothing for me), so I usually nuke ‘em for 30 seconds and warm ‘em up a bit, then they’re tasty. I use old fashioned oats, almond milk, Craisins (I’ve tried regular & blueberry flavored – yum!) and some chopped nuts of some variety. I also tried it with the last of some Mad Hectic Strawberry Pecan oatmeal, and it was delicious, too!

If I forget to make OO, I like a Thomas Light MultiGrain english muffin with some peanut butter & banana. :D Yum!
