We all have our own morning habits– reading the newspaper, practicing yoga with the sunrise, taking the dog for a walk, etc. My day always starts with a refreshing glass of iced coffee– no matter what. (To be honest, I’m not a happy camper if I don’t have it!)

So, I bet you’re wondering how iced coffee scores on the NuVal scale. Well, to me, it scores a 100, obviously.
But, the truth is that it doesn’t have a score at all! You see, while NuVal is scoring virtually everything you find in a grocery store, there are a few categories that are not being scored:
- Coffee
- Tea
- Cooking spray
- Vinegar
- Salt
- Baking soda
- Some spices
Ok, now I bet you’re wondering why NuVal doesn’t score these products. Melissa of A Better Bag of Groceries gives a great explanation here.
So, coffee doesn’t have a NuVal score, but the soy milk that I add to my daily glass does. Feel free to check out a bunch of soy milk scores from my post the other day. Some definitely score better than others!
