As you know, the internet is full of free resources. But, it’s pretty time-consuming to weed through the spam and scams to really find great deals. So, here are some of my favorite online deals that truly free– no catches or hidden costs!
TV and Movies
Hulu
Hulu is a free online video service that carries a great selection of TV shows and movies.
Music
Pandora
Pandora is a radio site that plays music based on your personal tastes. Currently, my favorite Pandora station is the Lady Gaga station!

I use this site every year! You’re entitled to one free credit report each year. You can access the 3 main credit bureaus (TransUnion, Equifax, Experian) through this reliable site for free.
Financial Planning

I love Mint! Mint takes your banking info and complies a financial profile for you online for free, so you can keep track of your spending, saving, and more. You can even set up email alerts if you surpass one of your budget goals.

These are great tips. Living overseas for a year, I got really good at finding ways to watch TV/movies, read and use all the free things the Internet has to offer.
I used to be a huge fan of pandora, but have now fell in love with grooveshark – it lets you CHOOSE the songs you want to listen to (for free). You can make playlists, listen to any album you can think of, or create a pandora-like personalized radio station. I love it!
Thanks for these! They’re so cool – too bad Hulu doesn’t work in China. But then again we have Youku, but that doesn’t always have the best quality… Darn the Great Firewall for blocking Youtube! D:
Wei-Wei
loooooooooove Mint. Its such a great way to have all of my finances in front of me at once!
thanks Tina for sharing your favorites!
I use most of these websites too! I have to second Elizabeth above about Grooveshark too though. I love pandora for my blackberry (I figured out that I can use the auxillary port in my car and listen to pandora in the car) but I totally use Grooveshark at home.
I also like using some of the free calorie calculators online. I don’t count everything but I count a recipe if I want to see how it measures up or somehting. I use the daily plate, my fitness pal, or about.com.
Fantastic ideas! I just recently started using Mint.com and love all of their budgeting tools and how specific you can get (yay for adding a budget line for dog walking and race registration fees… nerd alert!).
Another online freebie that I like checking out is the “free on iTunes” section. Every now and again there’s a great new jam. It’s hit or miss, but that’s part of the fun.
