The Vegetables That I Can’t Live Without

Even though I consider myself a foodie, I don’t really like cookbooks. I enjoy them for the most part, but I prefer to search for recipes online and I use my personal blog as a way to keep track of my favorites. However, one cookbook that I absolutely love is Mollie Katzen’s The Vegetable Dishes I Can’t Live Without.

From the back cover:

Sometimes we need a little inspiration when it comes to adding more vegetables to our plate. Thankfully for us, Mollie Katzen knows a thing or two about vegetables! On the 30th anniversary of her groundbreaking Moosewood Cookbook, Mollie presents her all-time favorite vegetable side dishes in this delightful and beautifully illustrated cookbook. Whether you need an appetizer, a quick and easy snack for the kids, or something to accompany a main dish, this cookbook offers over 90 creative recipes and countless ways to infuse more veggies into our diets.

I LOVE this cookbook! It makes vegetables taste wonderful through simple preparation and by using just a few ingredients. The recipes are so easy to follow and, of course, delicious. A number of Mollie’s recipes have become favorites in my house!

She even signed my copy of The Vegetables I Can’t Live Without. So cool!

  5. I love that you got to meet her! My favorite cook book that I don’t use often enough is Vij’s Elegant & Inspired Indian Cuisine. His restaurant is simply AMAZING, and he so super friendly and almost always there to greet everyone. A must go in Vancouver!!

  7. I love the Moosewood Cookbooks, but don’t have this one in my collection. Two summers ago while I was interning at Cornell, I had the opportunity to eat at the Moosewood restaurant and the food was delicious! If you’re ever near Ithaca, I recommend stopping to grab a bit to eat.

  8. A lot of our household favorites come from Alton Brown’s book I’m Just Here for More Food. So reliable! So delicious! I reduce the butter in most recipes, though :)
