Deal of the Week: Grocery Store Newsletter

Check out the FREE product that I received at my local grocery store the other day: Roasted Garlic Mustard from Stonewall Kitchen! Stonewall Kitchen makes some delicious, high-quality products, so this was quite a score! I also just love garlic-flavored foods! ;)

Deal of the Week

So, how did I get this jar of Roasted Garlic Mustard for free? I signed up for my grocery store’s monthly email newsletter. In addition to letting me know about new products and what’s on sale, the newsletter also offers great deals including coupons for free products. Cool, right? Be sure to see if your grocery store has something similar and sign up. You’ll definitely save some money and probably have the chance to try some new products.

Trading Up Downtown Giveaway

I love Stonewall Kitchen’s products so much, I’ve decided to giveaway a full-size jar of their Roasted Garlic Mustard to one lucky reader. Fresh garlic scores a 96 on the NuVal scale, so I threw in some garlic-flavored products to “sweeten” the deal. Also included in the prize pack are Kashi’s TLC Roasted Garlic & Thyme crackers (NuVal score: 30) and D.L. Jardine’s Roasted Garlic Salsa.

  2. I LOVE garlic and I get that from my dad because he loves it and my mom doesnt haha. I add it to just about everything. Whenever I saute up a veggie like zucchini or asparagus, garlic goes in there. Even in my omelets I throw garlic in! In my mind, there is no such thing as too much garlic ;)

  17. I’m not on twitter, but I love adding garlic to any veggies I’m cooking that are usually used to “bulk up” a dinner. Like last night I made gnocchi with sauteed onions, carrots, broccoli, garlic, and mushroom tomato sauce. Did you know garlic has amazing healing properties too? I guess it needs to be fresh, but I’ve read it can do wonders.

  19. I love plain roasted Garlic – you get much more pure! Heat your over to 400F. Slice off the top of a head are garlic, so that some cloves are slightly exposed. Next drizzle a bit of olive oil on the garlic, wrap in foil, and stick in it the over for 30-40 minutes. Spread that goodness of some great bread!

  21. I put garlic in almost everything, well, except desserts, although have you ever tried garlic white chocolate ice cream? Surprisingly delicious :) Anyways, one of my favorite potent garlic recipes is homemade pesto: blend 2 packed cups of basil with 1/4 cup olive oil, 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup pine nuts, 2-6 cloves of garlic depending on your tolerance, and salt and pepper. Delish. The more garlic the better, although I vary it depending on who’s coming to dinner that night ;)
