Nice tips and have a great time in Oregon, from another Oregonian! That is going to be a looong flight. One of my favorite rituals is also grabbing a Starbucks before my flight, taking out my magazine (so I appear to be reading), but actually people watching instead.

Great Advice! I have to fly out solo Christmas Day as well. I bet by the afternoon the airport will be pretty calm so taking the time to slow down and gather myself is a great idea, since we rarely have those moments during this season.
